Superstorm Sandy

Superstorm Sandy had winds that reached as far as 1,100
miles from end to end making it the largest Atlantic tropical storm on record.
The impact from Sandy stretched from the Caribbean to New England, causing a
record-breaking 13 foot storm surge in New York City and ultimately cause the
second most expensive storm on record for the United States, with an estimated
$50 billion in total damage.

Hurricane Isaac

Making landfall in Louisiana on August 29, 2012, the seven
year anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, Hurricane Isaac was a Category 1
hurricane that released up to 20 inches of rain, caused extensive flooding, and
had a storm surge up to 11 feet. Find out more about this storm here.

 

Hurricane Irene

Unusual for the extent of inland flooding it caused,
Hurricane Irene was the first major hurricane of the 2011 season. Irene caused
an estimated $15.6 billion in total damage, which makes it the sixth most
costly hurricane in United States history.
